If the jacket fits – Featuring New Look Inspire.

Hi all!

Some of you may of heard the news that New Look Inspire are pushing their new collections to be more fashion forward. This has definitely needed to happen for a long time as it has always seemed to be that New Look Inspire was a bit overlooked and behind with the fashion trends. I do browse on their website but nothing much ever jumps out at me, apart from when I shop via ASOS. I’m not sure if they just keep their best stuff for ASOS but I’ve had a few bits via ASOS which have been great. My favourite piece that I’ve ever bought from them though is this faux leather faux fur jacket.

I love this jacket so much.

Full outfit. I paired it with a New Look suedette cami and floral full skirt from Boohoo.

I love the jacket because it’s relaxed fit and so works on my short torso. The sleeves are a great length on me and have some detailing on them. The fur isn’t an overly fluffy slab of fur – it has great texture and can also be removed if you want just the leather jacket which I think is a nice touch. It’s always good to have options!

This jacket is so versatile and looks great thrown on with a little dress or with jeans and a cute tee. I’ve had so much wear out of it already and think it will definitely be  a real staple in my wardrobe – even more so now the weather is getting nicer and its time to put the big coats away!

It’s always worth giving a brand another try and seeing what they’re bringing to the table this season. I’m quite taken with a pinafore dress I’ve just seen on their website and think I may be purchasing it very soon!

Wearing Summer In Winter & A Look At Work Attire.

Hi all!

With starting a new job recently, I’ve been getting back into wearing work-wear and dressing for an office environment. I’m not going to lie – my version of “smart” and “business” attire is generally a lot different to other peoples as I like to have fun with my clothes and keep them bright and quirky. With this is mind, I wanted to take a summer midi skirt and dress it up for work in the winter.

I teamed this skirt with an origami collar blouse from ASOS curve which in my opinion, looked really great with the midi skirt. The skirt is highwaisted which works well with the blouse as it’s slightly over-sized on my waist/stomach and so the skirt pulls it in. I felt super confident in this outfit because it’s fun as well as smart. I also threw on a fuzzy black cardigan however I never got a snap of it.

I kept my wig light. This is Treacle Toffee from Geisha Wigs which I straightened and backcombed a little. I think the colour of this wig goes well with the cream blouse and the orange of the skirt.

Aint nothin’ but a houndstooth. Featuring New Look Inspire.

Hi all!

I was recently contacted and asked if I would like to try some pieces from New Look Inspires new range of products! As a big fan of New Look Inspire, I agreed and chose three pieces.

The most beautiful and my favourite piece that I chose is this amazing houndstooth dress! I get the vibe that houndstooth is going to be huge this season, and its a personal favourite print of mine.

Here’s the dress on! The fit is gorgeous and the dress is incredibly comfortable. The dress is soft and woven style, unlike printed scuba styles I’ve seen which means the print stays perfect. I went for a size 22 which fit lovely and the dress stretched across my large chest fine without warping the pattern.

I decided to give this dress its first outing for a family dinner at Adam’s mums! I decided to clash the print with a daisy print cardigan with a cute crochet collar, a hard vanity style bag, bright flats to add a pop of colour and a cute flower crown.

Dress – New Look Inspire

Cardigan – Primark (Last year)

Bag – Curve Clothing (Last year)

Shoes – (Primark)

Flower Crown – Handmade

Wig – Buttons (straightened)

This wig went beautifully with the dress!

With my partner Adam!

Happy and content in this dress. Adam was also looking cute in a tartan shirt from Topman, skinny fit joggers also from Topman and khaki sneakers from Size?. I love the way Adam dresses – he needs his own blog!

So yeah, I’m obsessed with this dress. It’s so comfortable and cosy and would be great for so many occasions from shopping with friends, to a romantic dinner or even a night out!

Do you love houndstooth? What do you think will be big this season?

Let me know below!

Feeling inspired. Featuring New Look Inspire.

Hi lovelies!

Due to ill health I have been taking a break from blogging. However, I am starting to feel better and so normal service will be resumed! One post I have been dying to share with you is about this beautiful floral print scuba dress from New Look Inspire. I was kindly contacted by New Look and offered a piece to review from 5 category trends, and of course I chose floral! The mission was to take a piece (either dress, top or trousers) and dress it up into an outfit.

Initially I was saving this dress for my Universities graduation, however I was too poorly too attend and so this post has been delayed. However – lets go back to the dress! I chose this dress because I adore mesh, the cut was beautiful and flattering and I thought the floral print was really unique and had loads of beautifully bright colours in it which would be great for dressing it up/down!

I have decided to show this look two ways – one dressed up and one dressed down.

Dressed up/Night-time  –

Here’s the dress on. I went for a size 22 and was a little nervous as I have found New Look Inspire to run small in the past however this dress was a perfect fit! The scuba style fabric means that the dress holds its shape nicely but is still cute and floaty.

The mesh detailing is a nice touch because it shows a hint of cleavage without being “too” out. I’m personally a sucker for mesh.

I love the print of this fabric, it mixes pastels with the deep navy background which means there’s so many colours to go with the dress.

I decided to dress this piece up with my coral crepe blazer also from New Look Inspire which I had in my wardrobe already, a pair of navy loafers and a home-made white flower crown. My wig is daphne from the wonderful Geisha Wigs.

Dressed down/daytime –

For the daytime look I kept this jacket less and just added simple pair of black sandals.

I went for a super bright wig which matches the dress so much and is perfect for summer! My wig is Mint Soda!

Overall I adore this dress. The colours are so perfect for summer, the slightly thick fabric means it’s wearable through the day with no jacket and it’s the perfect length on me to not worry about leggings/tights. I will definitely be getting a huge amount of wear out of this dress – most likely with a different colour wig each time!

Thanks for reading,

08/06/14 Amish Inspired OOTD.

Do you ever just throw something on for ease and comfort and then feel really great in it? This is what happened to me yesterday. I threw on a simple black dress with peep-hole which I purchased from Toni’s blog sale because I was going swimming and wanted something easy to wear which wouldn’t cling to me/my legs when I got out of the pool! As this is a nice midi length on me I don’t actually need tights which is great because putting tights on after swimming is my pet hate! This dress is originally from ASOS curve and has tiny little coloured flecks all over it, and coupled with the peep-hole they make this little black dress something quite interesting! The only downside to this dress is its absolutely massive on my waist. It’s a size 22 but would very easily accommodate up to a 26, so out comes a handy belt to cinch it in!

I then teamed this with my awesome Amish style hat which I bought at Christmas from New Look! In all honesty, I popped it on because I was going swimming and thought it would cover up any messes in the hair department! It looks great with my hair at the moment which is growing back from when I shaved it off for charity! I added some pink/peach this week just for fun and I really love it.10380316_528962967210445_1818201351439890061_n

I have to say I wasn’t expecting such a massive reaction like I got on Instagram! People just seemed to love this outfit which I threw on effortlessly for comfort. It was lovely to have so many kind/supportive comments and that’s what I truly love about the internet and how it brings people together – in particular the plus size blogger movement is so supportive and welcoming, I wouldn’t know where I would be without them as it was others who encouraged me to start blogging in the first place, so thank you!
